Hello I’m going to be P.E. teacher for a week with a youth group of 2nd graders and am suppose to come up with a dozen problem solving activities for the kids. I am at a complete loss. Any ideas?

how about some problems involving physics and forces, levers, etc.
A simple horsepower example involves measuring time running up stairs, and distance ‘raised’ in so doing… you don’t need to go into the details, but showing differences in it can be very interesting for 2nd graders…
another involves using levers anf fulcrums to move objects…
yet another has to do with pendulums and how length of the pendulum makes up for weight of the pendulum…
Hope these ideas help spark some of your creativity… have fun
