Jeremy and Joe were once in a Problem Solving class together. Some years later they meet on Beacon St. in Boston. The following is part of their conversation:
Jeremy: I have three kids.
Joe: How old are they?
Jeremy: The product of their ages (integers) is 36.
Joe: I need another clue.
Jeremy: The sum of their ages is the number on that building
across the street (which Joe can see)
Joe: (works with pencil & paper for a few minutes)
I almost have it but I need another clue.
(N.B. He would have answered if he could!)
Jeremy: The oldest has green eyes.
Joe: I’ve got it.
What are the ages of the three kids?
